It’s the hap- happiest time of the year

So for some reason I had the Christmas song “The most wonderful time of the year” in my head and decided to change it a little bit.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids parachute chasing
And everyone telling you “Go over there!”
It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the hap-happiest season of all
With those large awesome mortars and giant cremoras
When friends come to be in awe
It’s the hap- happiest season of all

There’ll be parties for hosting
Pork shoulder for roasting
And prep all in the garage
There’ll be lots of chain fusing
And tales of the glories of
4th of Julys not long ago

It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be much preparation
And hearts with anticipation
When the countdown is so near
It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the most wonderful time
It’s the most wonderful time
It’s the most wonderful time of the year

That said, I’m very excited for the 4th this year. No, I don’t have the massive one week vacation or mega large budget this year, but it’s plenty to have a great time for all. I don’t think I’ll be doing music this year or much with the firing system. The overhead it put on to last year’s show was just way too much. But we will have cremora fireballs so that’s always a plus!  Here’s a brief run down of what I ordered so far:

Roman candles -
144 plain 10 ball
144 10 ball with report
Black Cat Gatlin pack (18 of each 4 effects; 72 total)

Artilery Shells / Mortars
72 generic artillery shells
108 Radio Active canisters 60g
So with 180 shells I should be able to fill all my racks up

Cakes
20 96 shot Color Perl
6 Firework Fiesta
Plus whatever I buy a la carte when I pick up.

So I’m MEGA excited to say the least. I’m hoping too that with a little more activity in the pyro scene and coffee scene since new crops are in that I’ll have some more to write about.

What I’m unsure about at the moment is the date, so watch for announcements all over the place about the 3rd or the 4th. And I’m buying tarps this year to prevent show suckage like last year.
